WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR?
WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR?
I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. -Psalm 9:1
It’s Thanksgiving week, and I’m so excited! I hope you are too, because giving thanks is in response to what God has done for us. There’s truly a lot to be thankful for, and even if we don’t reflect as often as we ought to, we should set aside time this week to critically reflect on at least 10 things we’re thankful for. To encourage someone this week, I have decided to share 10 things I’m thankful for (though it’s a lot more than that) :
- God’s Word – This is what keeps me going, and for this- I am thankful. I am thankful that I can always rely on God’s word and promise to me, no matter the situation I am facing, knowing that He’s always with me.
- Life – It’s a daily miracle that we wake up every day. Not everyone has that privilege, so we should never take it for granted. It’s not by choice that we wake up every morning, it means we are at God’s mercy, and for this, we should be 100% thankful.
- Family – The best gift ever given to us is the gift of family. I am thankful I have a family, not a perfect one, but one filled with genuine love, which cannot be traded for anything in the world.
- Health – I’ve got every part of my body INTACT! Not everyone can say this. For this, I’m truly thankful! The importance of good health (both mental and physical) cannot be overestimated.
- Career – Working in a healthy environment is extremely important. It helps you focus on your goals and eager to give more input into your work. I am thankful that I happen to work in a healthy environment, great colleagues, and management that genuinely care about me.
- Purpose – Man spends the most time thinking of what his purpose is, and how to achieve it. I am thankful for the ability to recognize my purpose, though I am still working on the skill set I need to achieve it, and I am definitely looking forward to fulfilling my purpose on earth.
- Friends – Everyone needs at least one friend we can always count on. I’m thankful that I have very few but cherished people that I can call friends. I know I can always count on them, and I hope they can say the same about me.
- Holidays – I’m thankful for the special holidays where I get to spend quality time with my loved ones, especially Christmas!
- Love – I am thankful that I have 1 Corinthians 13: 4 -8. I am thankful for having experienced this kind of love, and knowing what love truly means.
- My Imperfections – I am thankful for being aware of my flaws, knowing fully well that I am not perfect. I am thankful for the opportunity to grow spiritually and mentally. I am thankful for the person I am becoming.
So tell me…. What are YOU thankful for?
